It defeats the whole purpose of magnifying Shion's traits in Meakashi. They're now the exact same person when lvl5. The writers essentially forgot Shion's personality and just made it Hinamizawa Syndrome. I much prefer how she was in the confrontation as it was basically Mion's "controlled" anger but more intense, rather than becoming unstable. Shaking that ladder like she's having a damn seizure. It was the same deal in the ladder scene. It was Mion who pulled the gun on Satoko and interrogated her, but she suddenly became Shion in her dying breath. In fact I do think her anger was handled really well in her confrontation with Satoko, until the end where she gloats and laughs maniacally. Okay maybe I can buy Mion losing control of her anger once lvl5, but Shion's signature laugh is proprietary, bitch! Don't go stealing it. That's exactly what she was like when lvl5 but cranked up to 100. On the other hand, Shion in Minagoroshi keeps screaming and gets unreasonably violent towards people who did nothing wrong. What's really scary there is how she looks so ready to fight.
And in Watanagashi, she pretty must just talks very sternly rather than yells loudly at the thugs. With the red eyes, and him describing her visage as the most terrifying demonic face he'd ever seen. That was the whole point of the scene in Onikakushi. Most of her wrath is displayed in her scary face. When she learns Ooishi told Keiichi everything and when those thugs intimidate him. Her constant lvl5 Joker laugh was always supposed to be a magnification of her original chaotic personality.Īs for her being angry, it's true Mion gets just as angry in he first 2 arcs of the vn. Mion has never ever done the crazy laugh. She does it when Oreo is berating her a year prior to Keiichi's transfer. The laugh in particular is something only Shion has ever done normally. But that's BS as Shion displays those personality traits without the syndrome. Mion became lvl5 Shion in Watakashi towards the end. I'm so confused as to who the twins even are now.
